A'Kaia Phelps

Software Engineer

A'kaia Phelps is a technology professional and current graduate student at Purdue University pursuing a Master of Engineering Management, building on her B.S. in Computer Science from Loyola Marymount University (May 2026). She brings hands-on technical program management and software engineering experience from two internships at Microsoft, where she led Xbox Cloud Gaming system integrations and built enterprise tooling using C# and Blazor.

A'Kaia is a two-time hackathon champion — her RefugeeID project (1st place, 2025) built a decentralized identity platform using Astro, React, and Worldcoin, and her Food Finder! app (1st place, 2023) helped connect communities to local resources. At Launch, she combines her engineering depth with a collaborative, community-driven approach to help clients solve complex technology and program challenges.
